ECHO TREKS

Self-guided, scavenger hunts help direct student learning as they explore ECHO Exhibits. Each grade level has four ECHO TREKS to choose from linked to ECHO's themes of ecology, culture, history and opportunities for stewardship. Students will sketch, count, read, inquire, estimate and write as they explore ECHO's exhibits. ECHO Treks are a great tool for post-trip reflection.

Coming this year – Inquiry Treks which drive discussion between students and chaperones/teachers as they guide students through key exhibits related to ECHO’s Mission of ecology, culture, history and opportunities for stewardship in the Lake Champlain Basin.

Please click on the link and print the number of copies you will need. ECHO will supply the clipboards and pencils!

LIVE ANIMAL FEEDINGS AND DEMOS

Daily at 10:30a.m., 12:30 and 3:00p.m.

Take time from your visit to have a personal visit with one of ECHO’s Animal Ambassadors — turtles, amphibians, snakes, fish or the creatures in our Champlain Sea Tank. Have an up-close look and learn interesting facts about the Basin’s inhabitants.

MOVIE SHORTS

20–30 minute special movie features on a range of environmental programs. New this year – great features from Bill Nye the Science Guy!

NATURE JOURNALS

Slow down the pace and create your own nature journal at ECHO. We provide the components to make your journal and a unique opportunity to observe animals up close! This experience is ideal for schools who hope to extend their ECHO experience back at school, for home school students with an interest in-depth study, or for any parent who wants to instill a more thoughtful and intimate connection to nature with their child. Check out the nature journal creation station at ECHO or make your ECHO Nature Journal at home or school before your visit to ECHO.
