PROGRAM

Join the growing list of over 300 ECHO School Ambassadors — a school’s primary liaison to ECHO throughout the year via email relays. ECHO School Ambassadors are “in the know” about field trip planning tips, special events, exhibits, programs, and teacher professional development. See below for responsibilities, benefits, and how to become YOUR school's ECHO School Ambassador!

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Read and forward monthly e-mail updates from ECHO about upcoming programs, events, and exhibits
  2. Visit ECHO's website and become familiar with ECHO’s Educators links
  3. Share Planning Your Field Trip tips with teachers
  4. Encourage viewing of ECHO Field Trip: The Movie online
  5. Consider making an "ECHO Binder" for teachers, with copies of the PDFs of program descriptions — including Vermont Science Standards
  6. Send Assistant Director of Education Tracy Truzansky a short evaluation at the end of the school year
  7. Be an enthusiastic supporter of ECHO at staff meetings, teacher conferences, etc.

BENEFITS

  1. ECHO Family Membership — a $100 value for your family (or as a gift to others!)
  2. Receive free reciprocal admission to more than 310 science centers, aquariums, and museums through the Association of Science and Technology Centers
  3. Receive our enewsletter, the ECHO Update, keeping you informed about the latest ECHO events and exhibits
  4. Invitations to ECHO Exhibit Openings — after-hours sneak peek events with great family activities!
  5. 10% off in ECHO's Eclectic Gift Shop, ecology-themed ECHO Café, and new Facility Rental bookings.

ECHO Ambassadors receive up-to-the-minute news and discounts via email.

Teachers enjoy inservice days at ECHO.To become an ESA:

  1. Send a confirmation via email to Elizabeth Nuckols, Youth Education Specialist at ECHO at enuckols@echovermont.org to ensure that your school has an identified ECHO School Ambassador (ESA). For questions, call 802-864-1848 x120.
  2. ECHO will update the ESA electronic list that is accessed by our Front Desk Guest Services staff including any changes to the ESA phone number or email address.
  3. The ECHO Membership benefit will run September 1 – August 31 to align with the school year.
  4. For the ESA’s ECHO Membership to be processed, an electronic or phone call identifying the beneficiaries must be received so that confirmation of the ESA’s name can be made at the front desk and the beneficiaries recorded in the ESA database.
  5. To receive the ECHO Membership card, the beneficiaries may either have the card processed on their next visit to ECHO or have the card mailed directly.

Please Note: ECHO School Ambassadors DO NOT need to plan or register trips for other teachers. Your role is to be a knowledgeable support for teachers as they plan field trips to ECHO and to act as our liaison for program opportunities. Thanks again!
