Education-led programs to see what fits your curriculum needs.
- ECHO Encounters
— Daily animal feedings, demos, movie shorts, hands-on
activities, and experiments.
- Fees and Payment — Estimate the number of students and adults to maintain 1:5
ratio, then calculate your group admission and program fees
(teachers count towards your chaperone ratio).

Hours of Operation - Determine your preferred field trip
dates and duration. Most field trips last between 2 and
4 hours, including lunch.

Parking — Plan your transportation needs.
Cars will be
charged for parking April through October; bus parking at
the boat ramp city lot near the Coast Guard Station is
free.

Once our registrar receives your online requests we will
call/e-mail to confirm your field trip dates and logistics. A
confirmation letter, including chaperone expectations and
invoice, will then be e-mailed to you. If you have problems
sending the Registration Form online, please call us at
1.877.324.6386 ext. 127 (toll-free).
GROUP EXPECTATIONS AND
SUPPORT
Chaperones play an important role in your group's
visit. In return for their help, ECHO
provides complimentary admission for one chaperone per every
five students. Teachers count towards your chaperone ratio. ECHO
also provides a complimentary admission for your bus driver.

Self-guided school group field trips require registration at
least one week in advance of your desired arrival date;
Teacher's Choice programs require at least two weeks to ensure
adequate Staff are available. Reservations are secured on a first come,
first serve basis. Payment must be received upon
arrival. Groups must be paid in one payment. Anyone paying
separately must pay the full admission price. ECHO accepts VISA,
MasterCard, American Express, Discover, cash, and checks made
out to "ECHO". Purchase orders will incur a $5 processing fee.

Regular Hours: Year round 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. except
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Day.
School Groups w/ Reservations: Monday - Friday 9:30
a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

PARKINGBuses will unload in front of
the information center across from ECHO and park at the nearby Coast
Guard Station. Bus drivers receive complimentary admission.
Schools traveling by private car pay $4.00 per car from April
through October. To park in our lot, head toward the
Lake on College Street, cross the railroad track, take a
left onto our driveway, and park in our lot. ECHO is located at the
Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, on Burlington’s Waterfront in
Vermont.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Trips may be canceled and rescheduled due to weather
conditions without penalty. If you are concerned about
weather, please call the day before your trip. For
non-weather related cancellations, schools must contact us
at least 24 hours in advance of their scheduled arrival time to re-schedule, or pay a $100
no-show fee.
