ECHO EARTHWEEKS'
MUDFEST

Slide into Spring with the 7th Annual ECHO Earth Weeks' Mudfest

As sure as April showers bring May flowers, spring also signals Earth Day and Mud Season - two events that ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center, at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, will be celebrating in muddy fashion with its 7th annual ECHO Earth Weeks’ MudFest. For 9 fun-filled days - April 21 - 29, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. - ECHO will be abuzz with muddy activities and games, eco-exhibitions, and knee-slapping "Muddy Music", 12:30 p.m. every day, showcasing acclaimed Vermont musicians, produced by family-friendly Re-Bop records.

2012 ECHO Earth Weeks’ MudFest highlights:

  • The always-popular "Mud Fling": Daily at 11:30 a.m. & 4 p.m. Scoop up a spoonful - or handful - of sopping-wet earth, then drop it three stories down towards a giant target below. Now that’s physics!

  • Explore the Basin Activities: Daily earthy demonstration at 2 p.m., from learning frog and toad calls to building a basin and meeting some animals!

  • "Muddy Music" Daily at 12:30 p.m. Grab a spot in front of the big picture windows on the upper floor and sing along with some of Vermont's best singer-song writers such as Jon Gailmor, Lewis Franco and the Brown-Eyed Girls, Colin McCaffrey, Robert Resnick and many more - produced by Vermont’s own Re-Bop Records.

  • Mud Table Daily from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.: One super-sized mud tables with creative play tools. Oh yes, play all you want in the mud!

For the complete event schedule please visit our calendar.

And here’s welcoming news: A special ECHO’s Open Door community access “Vermont and New York discount” is being offered throughout the event: $2 off admission for everyone in a party (requires just one valid ID from either state).

So pull on your mud boots and celebrate spring, Earth Day, and Mud Season all at once — just slide down to ECHO Earth Weeks’ MudFest for more muddy fun than you can possibly imagine!
