Camp: ECHO Adventurers

Monday, July 30, 2012 through Friday, August 3, 2012
From 8:30 am to 2:30 pm

Combining hands-on science with behind-the-scenes animal encounters, ECHO Adventurers will experience exclusive access to our lakeside Science Center & Aquarium. Guided by full-time ECHO educators, camp staff, and animal care professionals, this intimate group will have private, before-hours admission to our animals, exhibits, and brand new Lakeside Pavilion. A typical day might include exploring the beach ecosystem, playing a group game, dissecting an owl pellet, and then touching a live starfish at Champlain Sea tank! Campers are sure to emerge with new friendships and affection for the natural world. 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. For students entering Grades 1-2; Limit: 16; Member: $265 Non-member: $295.

Our "Get Closer to the Lake" Camps are ECHO's signature set of camps designed to grow with your child's passions and interests year after year. Our youngest campers develop their sense of wonder in our half-day "Science & Stories" Camp. Those entering 1st grade go behind-the-scenes of a working Lake Aquarium and Science Center during our full day "ECHO Adventurers" Camp. Campers at the 2nd and 3rd grade level adopt and gain in-depth knowledge about ECHO's aquatic animals during our "Animal Ambassador". 4th and 5th graders head out on UVM's Melosira research vessel and build their own ROV during our "Aquatic Discovery Camp". Finally during "Explore the Shore Camp", 5th-8th graders partner with their instructors to conduct field investigators in and around the Lake.

After care is available until 5pm for $15/day or $60/wk for all "Get Closer to the Lake" Camps except "Science & Stories."
