Camp: Science & Stories

Monday, July 9, 2012 through Friday, July 13, 2012
From 8:30 am to 11:30 am

Inspired by our popular Science & Stories preschool program, this half-day camp will cultivate your future Kindergartener’s sense of wonder through inquiry-based storytelling and hands-on play. Each day the group will engage with science activities, and arts & crafts projects and enjoy science and nature themed books through interactive read-alouds. Campers will also have ample opportunity to get their energy out during group games and exploratory trips out onto the waterfront. Inquisitive minds and adventurous spirits are encouraged to enroll! 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (half-day camp, no after care available). Students entering kindergarten; must be toilet-trained. Limit: 16. Member: $160 Non-member: $175.

Our "Get Closer to the Lake" Camps are ECHO's signature set of camps designed to grow with your child's passions and interests year after year. Our youngest campers develop their sense of wonder in our half-day "Science & Stories" Camp. Those entering 1st grade go behind-the-scenes of a working Lake Aquarium and Science Center during our full day "ECHO Adventurers" Camp. Campers at the 2nd and 3rd grade level adopt and gain in-depth knowledge about ECHO's aquatic animals during our "Animal Ambassador". 4th and 5th graders head out on UVM's Melosira research vessel and build their own ROV during our "Aquatic Discovery Camp". Finally during "Explore the Shore Camp", 5th-8th graders partner with their instructors to conduct field investigators in and around the Lake.

After care is available until 5pm for $15/day or $60/wk for all "Get Closer to the Lake" Camps except "Science & Stories."
