ECHO Family-Scientist Lab: Muscular/Skeletal System
Wednesday, July 11, 2012
Start: 1:00 pm |
Our muscles and bones work together to act both as a frame for our body and to allow us to move around. Come to this lab session to get a closer look at how these systems work in concert for us. After a short lecture, participants will have the opportunity to dissect a chicken wing and examine how muscles and bones are connected. To make your reservation for a Family Scientist Lab call 877-324-6386, ext. 100
ECHO is excited to offer these ECHO Family-Scientist Labs this summer. Each one hour lab will include a short lecture and hands-on activity that focuses on a specific body system highlighted in the Our Body: The Universe Within exhibit. After lab time there will be short guided walk-through of that system in the exhibit. The six themed labs are open to people who have purchased tickets to Our Body:The Universe Within for that day. However, space is limited to 25 participants (sign-up is on a first come, first served basis). The intended audience is 10 and up, though all ages are welcome. We will be working in a real laboratory so we ask that any children attending be accompanied by at least one care-giver.
