FeBREWary 2014

Thursday, February 13, 2014
From 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

ECHO’s 3rd installment of the popular (and always sold out) FeBREWary beer exploration event will be happening on Thursday, February 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This year we head into the science, flavor, and history of another wonderfully rich beer producing region of the world—Belgium! Do you know Belgian beer? FeBREWary will expand your palette and knowledge of the Belgian brewing tradition beyond the popular Pils and ubiquitous White Ales. Here you will sample products from centuries-old Belgian breweries as well as innovative European and American breweries where they are reinventing archaic or endangered regional beers styles.

Explore the funky world of naturally fermented lambics; the sour, bacteria-driven taste of Flemish Reds; traditional and innovative takes on Dubbels, Tripels and Quadrupels; and the hyper-regional diversity of Saison or Farmhouse ales.

From 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. guests will enjoy three presentations while sipping and tasting world class beer poured at a number of pouring stations.

  • Science and history of new-world Belgian beer operations presented by representatives from Allagash Brewing company.
  • Belgian-style beer presentation by representative from VT’s Lost Nation brewery.
  • Expert Beer Panel moderated by award-winning brewer and owner of Vermont Homebrew Supply, Anne Whyte. Panelists include Joe Lemnah, formerly of Dogfish Head, now owner of Burlington Brewing Company, and Josh Sled, home brewer and yeast investigator.
