Seasons of Change
Believer, skeptic or
bystander, few would deny that "climate change" is a hot topic. From
extreme weather patterns to the recent flooding of Lake
Champlain the effects of global warming and climate change in
general is hard to ignore. In January ECHO will explore the impacts of
climate change with the presentation of the exhibit Seasons of Change.
Seasons of Change is an interactive
traveling exhibit that illustrates how climate change is impacting the
landscape of New England over the changing of the seasons. What affects
does climate change have on the maple industry? How has climate change
contributed to the boom of vineyards in Vermont? What does this mean
for our wildlife? How does this effect the ecology of the region? This
exhibit allows you to explore these questions, share your thoughts and
compare past climates to the climate of today with projections for the
year 2100. As you explore the exhibit, you’ll get a chance to: find out
how climate change is affecting the people of New England; share your
thoughts about what aspects you might miss most about New England’s
current climate; compare coastal flooding today with projections for
the year 2100. Read

Our
Body: The Universe Within
The human body is a complex organization that has an important job to
get done on a tight deadline. In order to get everything done perfectly
and on time it has to use a system. Our Body the Universe Within is a
world-class, fascinating, artful and educational exhibit consisting of
actual human bodies and organs and the systems that make the body work.
This exhibit literally goes "under the skin", revealing the mysteries
of the human anatomy. The bodies, specimens and organs have been
preserved using a process known as polymer impregnation. Our
Body: The Universe Within allows you the insight to
the inside: giving one a true look at the inner workings of the
extraordinary human body.
This is the first exhibit to be open to the
public in ECHO's new Revision Pavilion Exhibit Hall. To learn more

Lake Campaign" here

Race:
Are We SO Different?
Vermont is one of the least diversified states in the country in terms
of race. And like many states the urban centers such as Burlington and
Rutland have seen an increase in its ethnic population over the last
decade or so. We can "see" how we look different from each other and we
can learn about our cultural uniqueness but in the end what fascinates
us is how we are so alike. RACE: Are We So Different?
is an exhibit that challenges, explores and celebrates these things
that we have in common.
The exhibit invites the guest to explore
race through three primary lenses: Race as a recent human invention;
Race viewed through a culture lens, not biology; Race and racism
embedded in our institutions and everyday life.
RACE: Are We So Different
was Developed by the American Anthropological Association in
collaboration with the Science Museum of Minnesota.
