Clifford Wagner | Janet Van Fleet

Clifford Wagner:
Clifford Wagner has more than 25 years of experience in
science and children’s museums. His career began at
Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute where he served as
chief device developer. From there he moved to the
Please Touch Museum where he managed the collection of
exhibits. In 1995 he founded Science Interactives, and began creating
Contraptions! Clifford’s years of experience with
hands-on exhibits is complemented by artists, musicians
and other specialists allowing for the creation of
dramatic, engaging exhibits.

Janet Van Fleet: With exhibitions that span the
globe, Janet Van Fleet is a mixed-media artist who lives
and works in Vermont. Having studied at University of
Michigan and Goddard College, she is a founder of
Studio Place Arts, a community center for the
visual arts in Barre, Vermont, where she has her studio.
Her contribution to Contraptions! is entitled "Disc
Dance" and allows visitors to explore light and motion.

David Blumenthal: Having studied at Harvard
and the Pratt Institute, David Blumenthal specializes in
conceptual design, wood & composite fabrication, and
dimensional modeling. He has conceived and created
several interactive portions of museum exhibits and has
won awards for his artwork. In addition, his company,
Studiozoic, designs very interesting gadgets which could
themselves be considered contraptions. David's
contribution to Contraptions! includes "Topoform" and "Topomaker,"
the latter of which lets visitors transform
3-dimensional items into topographs.
