SPECIAL
"GROSS" EVENTS |
Get your calendar out now and plan your totally gross fun at ECHO! |

Grossology
it so much fun we just had to create other gross events to
complement the exhibit. And, our partners at the Vermont
Children's Hospital, were only too happy to come up with some
really, really fun and gross things to do!
Each program takes place on a Saturday while Grossology is at
ECHO, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the dates listed below. Go to
our event calendar for
more information and other events.
September 17: An Introduction – The Impolite Science of the
Human Body – Family audiences. Learn your body’s ins and
outs through exhibits, games, and experiments. Meet Vermont
Children’s Hospital staff for Grossology Q & A. Climb aboard the
FACT ambulance.
October 22: A Prelude to Halloween – Wounds, Scars, Guts and
other Gross Fake Stuff – Family audiences. Make fake blood,
eyeballs, and wounds. Face painting. Go retro by competing in
The Operation Game. Climb aboard the FACT ambulance.
November 19: Pre-Thanksgiving – Yes, It’s All About Digestion
– Family audiences. Experiment with physical and chemical change
and find out what makes us “go”! Digestion Demo with the Vermont
Children’s Hospital. Climb aboard the FACT ambulance.
December 10: Cooties! – The Realities of Infection –
Family audiences. Explore the science of the sneeze and the
evolution of the scab. Meet Vermont Children’s Hospital staff
for Grossology Q & A. Climb aboard the FACT ambulance.
Ongoing
event during GROSSOLOGY: "Find the Foot" game: Test your
scientific observation skills and play “Find the Foot” each week
at ECHO! We’ll stamp a special Grossology “Find the Foot” card
at our front desk each time you discover its unusual location in
ECHO’s exhibits. When you find it in five different locations
over the course of the exhibit’s stay (through January 8, 2012),
you'll receive a Grossology Goodie Bag filled with fun and
useful (and potentially gross) stuff from ECHO and the Vermont
Children’s Hospital at Fletcher Allen Health Care.
The above programs may seem silly and totally gross (well, they
are) but they are designed to teach in a way that catches
children's attention. These are important lessons wrapped up in
gross, fun and totally disgusting packages.
And it works!
Join in the fun on these dates or come to ECHO any time between
September 17 and January 8 to explore and enjoy the Grossology
exhibit at your own pace!
We guarantee you'll learn a thing or two...and have fun in the
process.
