KEVA Planks: Fusion of Art and Science invites the architect, builder and designer in all of us to explore creative ways to make building structures come to life.
KEVA Planks consists of 15,000 smooth pieces of wood that are exactly the same size (4-5/8” long x 1” wide x 1/4” thick). These small uniform planks allow for an unlimited amount of creative building, stacking and designing ranging from complex structures to simple tall towers.
JOIN A BUILDING CHALLENGE:
Beginning June 14th, there will be a building challenge every day at 4 p.m. The challenges will be timed and incorporate a limited number of blocks to create special structures. Can you be creative under pressure?
ECHO guests love our summer-time Wacky Wednesdays! This summer we will dedicate our Wednesdays to building challenges using different materials and using basic building principles that can be found in our natural world.
ECHO has teamed up with the Vermont chapter of the AIA (American Institute of Architects) to host the AIA Airstream project known as “Archistream”. This 21 foot, 1969 Airstream Globetrotter has been transformed by 10 undergraduate architecture students from Norwich University as part of their spring design-build challenge. The airstream is a mobile outreach, education and design center and creates a space where you can imagine what it would be like to be an architect! You will have access to various building materials and designs as well as books and videos that encourage creative design. The “Archistream’ will be at ECHO from June 7 through September 1
As a non-profit, ECHO relies greatly on creative partnerships with businesses and individuals who believe in our mission and purpose.
