HOMESCHOOL PROGRAMS

ECHO's Education Team respects the unique teaching opportunities and independent nature of homeschooling families. We strongly encourage you to plan a trip to ECHO with other students of similar age and interests so that they may take part in our Teacher’s Choice programs. We urge you to make yourselves known to us by sending an email to Elizabeth Nuckols, ECHO Education Specialist.

ECHO’s Homeschool Science Series

This winter ECHO will be offering two more sessions of our new Homeschool Science Series. These programs stress science inquiry and investigation. Students will practice thinking like a scientist as they work collaboratively with other participants to explore science topics through hands-on activities.

Session I Time Machine Travel

ECHO Homeschool Science Series for ages 5-7
Thursdays January 22nd – February 19th, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Cost: $100.00 for pass holders, $125.00 for non-pass holders
Description: Travel back in time and visit some distinctly different periods in the Lake Champlain Basin. Our “time machine” will visit a warm water ocean, the time of the dinosaurs, a cold water sea, and Lake Champlain Basin’s indigenous people.
Session II Behind the Scenes at ECHO

ECHO Homeschool Science Series for ages 8-10
Thursdays March 19th – April 16th, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Cost: $100.00 for pass holders, $125.00 for non-pass holders
Description: What exactly goes on behind those “Staff Only” doors? Students will get a sneak peak into the secret life of ECHO staff and discover what it takes to create exhibits, care for animals, and educate the public about the Ecology, Culture, History, and Opportunity for Stewardship in the Lake Champlain Basin.
