PETE
VAN ROYEN |
Meet
Education Interpreter, Pete Van Royen.
|
Pete
Van Royen has been volunteering in ECHO's Education Department
for the past fifteen years! He began volunteering in 1995, two
years after he retired from GE, and is one of a handful of
original volunteers who was part of the Lake Champlain Basin
Science Center which then transformed into ECHO Lake Aquarium
and Science Center at the Leahy Center for Lake Champlain.
Pete is an avid traveler, but he always finds time for ECHO and
his flexible schedule and ability to adapt to fit the needs of
the Education Department make him an invaluable volunteer. His
life travels, work at GE and fifteen years of “on the job
training” while at ECHO make it possible for him to fill in
wherever he is needed and share his wealth of knowledge with our
visitors.
Pete has a relaxed and gentle manner about him that makes him
very approachable; therefore, able to share ECHO’s mission and
information with a variety of visitors.
