How long should I plan to spend at ECHO?

Most families visit for at least an hour-and-a-half, though many will spend a whole afternoon, or all day exploring the facility.  Be sure to leave time to visit the Lone Sailor, explore our beautiful Waterfront and Church Street Marketplace, and in the summer months, book one of  the three "ECHO On The Lake" boat cruises.

We do have an ATM, and we accept credit cards throughout our facility — although parking is cash or check only.

Are you wheelchair accessible?

Yes. ECHO was designed for people of all abilities, from our Think! Café and restrooms to our exhibits. We also offer two loaner wheelchairs on a first-come, first-serve basis.

When is peak fall foliage?

While every year is different, in Burlington you'll generally begin to see fall foliage around mid-September, with colors at their peak mid-October. Our climate is tempered by the Lake, so for other Vermont locations, particularly in the Mountains, you can count on foliage arriving, and peaking, a bit earlier.

How close are you to the major ski resorts?

Burlington is located in the midst of many quality resorts. The closest are about 40 minutes away by car.

What papers do I need to get across the border?

Visitors from other countries must bring current passports, and possibly a visa. Check with the United States Border Patrol for specifics.
