Early Learning Readiness Program for ages 0-5
ECHO, in partnership with the Greater Burlington YMCA, offers an Early Learning Readiness Program for low resource and new American families. The ELR program educates and trains home based caregivers, who may have little or no access to learning support programs, on developmentally appropriate learning activities for children age 0-5. Sessions take place twice a week for 2 hours and are led by YMCA early education professionals and ECHO youth education staff.
Each Early Learning Readiness sessions includes: child directed play and exploration of 13 interest stations; circle time with directed group songs and activities; healthy snacks; intentional caregiver learning opportunities; support for caregivers networking; and a chance for children to interact. The Early Learning Readiness program at ECHO has been made possible by financial support from The Institute of Museum and Library Sciences and the Y-USA. Contact Elizabeth Nuckols, Youth Education Specialist, for more information.
