ECHO Open all Christmas Week
Closed Christmas Eve and Day
WHO: ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center at the Leahy Center
for Lake Champlain will be open for all holiday travelers and other guests during the week
between Christmas and New Years Day with extended holiday programming.
As is usual, ECHO is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but is open
every day onward (until next year’s Thanksgiving Day) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day.
WHAT:ECHO’s education team will be on hand along with the animal
care staff every day to educate guests with daily demonstrations and animal feedings.
PLUS, Guests can enjoy the last few weeks of the current traveling exhibit: Grossology,
The (Impolite) Science of the Human Body.
OTHER EVENTS:
GROSSOLOGY, the (impolite) Science of the Human Body, last day to enjoy it is January 8.
ECHO AFTER DARK: Cafe
Scientifique: CubSat ~ The Next Frontier, Vermont in Space: Thursday, January 12, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
With a grant from the Vermont Space Grant Consortium, a part of the NASA Space Program, a group of students
from four Vermont colleges and universities, are making significant contributions to the Development of the
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) workforce by developing a CubeSat, a new space
technology. Suggested $5 donation at the door.
Seasons of Change, opens
on Saturday, January 21, 2012, an interactive exhibit that demonstrates how climate change is impacting the
landscape of new England through the seasons. Free with admission to ECHO.
ECHO AFTER DARK: FebBREWary~ The Science of Beer:
Thursday, February 9, 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Learn about the science of beer making with experts presenting a
variety of topics and more than a dozen world-class beers for tasting. 5 tastings included in the admission
price. $20 non-members, $15 members.
Our Body: The Universe Within, opens on
Saturday, April 14, 2012. An extraordinary exhibit of actual human specimens allowing guests to literally
“get under the skin” of the mysteries of the human body. Presenting partner is the University of Vermont
College of Medicine.

ECHO Lake Aquarium and Science Center is located at the
Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, on Vermont’s Burlington
Waterfront. ECHO features 70 live species, more than 100
interactive experiences, changing and permanent exhibits and
